About Me

Hey! I'm Ava Hernandez

Horses have shaped my life for as long as I can remember. I started riding at 10 years old at a small lesson barn in Kansas, building my way up through hard work, determination, and a deep love for the sport. Today, I compete as a Grand Prix show jumper based out of Wellington FL, an achievement that reflects years of commitment, perseverance, and trust between horse and rider.

I discovered photography at 12 when I first picked up my mom’s camera, and it quickly became another way to tell the stories I was living. Being both in the saddle and behind the lens allows me to capture the sport with authenticity and intention. I understand the unseen effort, the quiet moments, and the emotion that make equestrian sport so meaningful.

I am a Winter 2026 SCAD Graduate with a major in Equine Studies and a minor in Graphic Design. Creating equine content means everything to me, it’s more than visuals, it’s preserving the connection, grit, and passion that define this world. My goal is to create honest, powerful imagery that reflects the heart of the sport and the people who live it every day.
